Study on index gas for prediction of coal spontaneous combustion

In order to study the spontaneous combustion characteristics of No.10 coal seam in Wugou Coal Mine, Wanbei Coal Electricity Group Company, the experiment of coal oxidation under heating condition was conducted in the laboratory.The concentration of CO, CO2, CH4, C2H4, C2H6 and C3H8 producing from coal samples at different pyrolysis temperature was measured.The temperature of these gases detection was determined.On the basis of experimental results, according to the principle of index gas selection, the index gases suitable for spontaneous combustion forecasting in the coal mine were selected.CO is the major index gas for spontaneous combustion of the coal seam and C2H4, C2H6 and C3H8 are the auxiliary index gases for coal temperature determination.
