摘要

While a significant number of structures built in this country are ultimately demolished to make way for new construction, there has been little research examining the potential for re-use of materials from demolition. This project undertook the thorough documentation of a residential demolition. Subsequent analysis included research into the technical challenges of re-use of salvaged materials, economic analysis of the potential for re-use on individual, regional, and national scales, and embodied energy analysis delineating the environmental economy of demolition for salvage.
