THE RESEARCH OF SCALE ON DESIGN FACTORS AND THE STYLES OF FABRIC AND APPAREL

Most of the fashion related information regarding the fabric development is objective description of written words or the presentation of many images, graphs and styles of the clothes. The provided information is often interpreted differently due to the personal experience and varied ability. The lack of a subjective and common language often leads to a recognition gap of communication and causes the difficulties in development. This study adopted a scale that is consisted by opposite adjectives; also, it applies Delphi method to collect experts' opinions. Therefore, it conducted a quantitative research of image morality and further evaluated the design elements of apparel and fabric such as color, texture, pattern and shapes. By the statistic analysis of the design elements of the image style of apparel and fabric on the relative location of the coordinate, we build up a common index and a tool for communication. Therefore, it provides the designer with a rapid communication model as well as an information system.
