The research progress and characteristics of PLA (polylactic acid) are summarized, PLA fibers have many properties that are superior to PET fibers by comparison. The production requirements and parameters that affect the properties of the end-use products are discussed in detail. Based on investigation and research the problems that are occurred during its production are put forward. At the same time, some suggestions are given to solve these problems.
