摘要

The foreign direct investments by Hong Kong clothing manufacturers in developing regions have seen to grow rapidly over the past few decades. The choice of plant location for investing overseas is often regarded as a decision-making problem. The conventional techniques of manufacturing-site selection basically rely on the manufacturers' judgment based on their knowledge, experience and subjective assessments. This paper proposes a decision model for clothing manufacturing-site selection using both the feedforward neural network with error back-propagation (EBP) learning algorithm and fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (FAHP). Variables in relation to the production sites selection by Hong Kong clothing manufacturers after 2004 have been identified and input into the proposed model for decision-making process.
