摘要

The finite element method based on a computer is applied in this paper. A modified quasi-3-demensional model is proposed in order to simulate the mechanical behavior of the PE/PE composite laminates. The model established in this study is also constructed of shell elements and beam elements that represent the fibers and matrix, respectively. It has a heterogeneous nature and can simulate different fractural phenomena such as the transverse crack and interlaminar delamination in the composite laminates at the same time. Using this model, the features of the tensile damage propagation processes for three types of quasi-isotropic PE/PE composite laminates were analyzed, and the calculation time was very short as compared with the conventional 3-dimensional analysis. The prediction of strength for aforementioned composite laminates was performed.
