摘要

Cellular structures currently applied in various engineering fields are mainly made of metal and paper. However, cellular textile composites reinforced by integrated textile structures have the obvious advantages of being light and strong. This paper characterizes the cellular textile composites for energy absorption. The structural parameters of the cellular composites include the opening angle, cell-wall length, cell-wall thickness, length of the bonded cell-wall, and thickness of the bonded cell-wall. Software package MSC. Marc Mentat 2002, together with a house-made pre-processor, was used for analysis. The analytical results provide useful guidance to the engineering of cellular textile composites for various applications. Impact tests were carried out to for the transmitted force analysis.
