摘要

Near-term and future medical application will require the incorporation of various novel functionalities into fabrics. Main development tendency in technical textile is displayed, which concerns with leisure clothing, hygienic and medical applications, etc. The multipurpose functionality incorporation in new technical fabrics is related closely to the application of novel techniques of material science, chemistry and biology in traditional coating manufacture procedure. It is found that the microstructure morphology of coating layer and the incorporation of functional payload will effectively improve the function performance of the fabrics. Recent advance in research dealing with microencapsulation and nanostructure synthesis of function components for the incorporation of the payload in polymeric porous membranes is also discussed.
