摘要

The effect of change in lap hank, card draft and draft/doublings at draw frame, was studied by using Taguchi Method. The corresponding changes in speed frame and ring frame draft were studied by using Regression model. The experiments were conducted by using L8 mixed orthogonal array for the main factors. The L4 orthogonal array was used to study the effect of noise variables like spindle to spindle variation, doff position and material conditioning during testing. The high speed frame draft improves the properties of roving produced by keeping coarser lap hank or lower card draft initially. The tensile properties are only marginally affected by the chosen process variables, whereas, U% and imperfections are considerably affected by the changes in lap hank and card draft. The hairs above 3 mm on yarn surface are dependent on the card draft and corresponding speed frame and ring frame draft. The Taguchi method in conjunction with ANOVA technique is a useful statistical technique in figuring out the effect of process variable on yarn properties.
