SYNTHESIS OF A NOVEL BUNTE SALT

Bunte salts are a class of compounds being used in many fields such as textiles, chemical engineering and pharmacy. A novel Bunte salt 2, 2′2″ -nitrilo-triethylthiosulphate was synthesized from the reaction of 2,2′2″ -nitrilo-triethylsulphate (TES) with sodium thiosulphate. Capillary clectrophoresis analysis and Fourier transform Raman analysis were used to confirm the existence of the Bunte salt. A economical way of purification using ethanol at different tempaeratures was proposed with good yield.
