Quality of service based charging using Parlay X

摘要

In this paper we suggest an approach to quality of service based charging in Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) by the use of Parlay X Web Services. The policy and charging control (PCC) functions are analyzed and their support by Parlay X interfaces is evaluated. The open access to Application-driven Quality of Service and Payment functions is investigated and mapped onto IMS control protocols. Combining existing Web Services, we design a Parlay X Application for charging of IMS traffic based on the provided quality of service.
