Vehicle hybridation is becoming more and more necessary in Europe to meet CO2 emission rules. Also the raising price of gasoline encourages automotive manufacturer to find ways to decrease fuel consumption. In this context low cost small hybrids like 48V systems are developed. For this kind of technology, very small energy is used (less than 500Wh) but very high power (on the order of 10kW) is needed to help the internal combustion engine during acceleration. In this frame high power lithium titanate battery is a good fit: it can sustain thousands of cycle at high power and is also tolerant to fast charge needed during regen braking phases. In this poster we will show cycle life results of LTO paired with NMC, 5V spinel, LMO and LFP, in representative cells ranging from 0,3 to 10Ah. Power performance will also be shown along with calendar aging. Finally next generation high voltage negative electrodes will be discussed.
