SPEED VERSUS SEAWOTHINESS

摘要

This paper looks at the traditionally conflicting aspects of fast boat design relating to speed and seaworthiness. The limiting factor in fast boat operations is largely the performance of the crew and the paper suggest that the focus for improving crew comfort and performance should be on the hull design rather than the crew seating. The paper goes on to propose better and more responsive propulsion solutions that can help to narrow the gap between speed and seaworthines.
