摘要

The excellent agreement between numerical simulations (PDF) and experimental results, and the ability to interface the two, demonstrates the efficacy of DTE for estimating the effects of design parameters on any valve or device thrombogenicity. We conclude that: (1) An intermediate gap clearance would be the optimal choice for minimized thrombogenic risk. (2) A larger opening angle would improve the thrombogenic performance of the ATS valve. (3) An additional improvement to the non-recessed ATS hinge design may further reduce valve thrombogenicity.
