摘要

This paper presents a reliability analysis of the stability of classical submarine structuresrnwith initial geometric imperfections unavoidable during the manufacturing process. The mechanicalrnmodel is given by accurate Finite Element (FE) computations, which overcomes limitationsrnof most of previous works found in the literature mainly based on analytical mechanicalrnmodels. The reliability analysis is achieved through a modified RS algorithm, based on multiplernevaluations of the design point. This algorithm and the FE code have been closely merged and theyrnhave been run on a multiprocessor computer to deal with the large amount of computations required.rnSome applications to the plastic collapse of ring-stiffened shells of revolution with geometricrnimperfections are lastly presented, showing the potential features of the tool.
