SAN and NAS: Converging Solutions?

In recent years we have seen an explosion in the amount of new data that administrators are required to bring online and manage with typically very small staffs. Therefore, companies that are leading their industries are required to constantly reevaluate their computing infrastructure, looking for ways to improve performance bottlenecks and increase data availability and reliability. One area that invites reevaluation today is the heterogeneous computing environment of NT and UNIX. Today, both SAN (Storage Area Networks) and NAS (Network-Attached Storage) address the growing complexity of managing the explosive growth of data in today's enterprise environments.
