This paper focuses on how discrete event simulation software can be used in simulation of a manufacturing assembly line. It is very difficult to interpret the exactness of the decision for problems concerning production especially for complex manufacturing assembly line. Production activities in any assembly line could be improved by performing a realtime simulation and analyzing the bottlenecks in the system. The frame work of existing manufacturing assembly line at Taylor Corporation, a company manufacturing weighing scales is described for which discrete event simulation is used to demonstrate the improvements for different changes in the manufacturing assembly line. ProModel, discrete event simulation software was used to model and simulate the existing assembly line and to analyze the improvements. The results concerning various improvements for different options are reported.
