Turbidite systems are complex heterogeneous siliciclastic de-positsrncalling for a new approach to geophysical and geosta-tisticalrnreservoir characterization. The aim of this paper isrnto demonstrate the integration of seismic amplitude and rockrnphysics data into realistic geological scenarios using a novelrngeostatistical approach. Avseth (2000, 2001 with others) pre-sentedrnan integrated rock physics/seismic inversion approach tornpredict seismic facies within the Glitne Field reservoir, NorthrnSea. The outcome of this work is a seismic derived conditionalrnprobability of facies. We provide a geostatistal methodology forrnintegrating this large-scale probability model with smaller scalerngeological models consisting of channel complexes typical forrnknown turbidite systems around the world.
