A new method is presented in this paper, which is used tornmeasure four-parameters, namely down-hole pressure,rntemperature, flow rate and steam quality, on thermal recoveryrnfor heavy oil. Throttling action of the instrument itself andrndown-hole vortex shedding sensors combine to measure bothrnflow rate and steam quality. According this method, anrninstrument has been developed which makes use of steel wiresrnto go up and down, metal heat-insulating bottles to insulaternheat, a down-hole SCM to gather and store data, a hostrncomputer on the ground to redisplay and deal with the results.rnCalibrations indoor and applications on the spots prove thatrnthe measuring errors of pressure and temperature are less thanrn0.5%, mean square root errors of flow rate and steam qualityrnless than 6%. It can meet the expectations of the thermalrnrecovery testing for heavy oil.
