Terra Community College Coloring of Plastics Program Goes Distance

The Coloring of Plastics program at Terra Community College is a one of a kind industry supported educational program. Other colleges and universities teach polymer science, but Terra's program is unique because it concentrates on the extensive color matching skills needed in the manufacturing of thousands of plastic parts. The CAD and Terra have recognized a need for color education in the plastic's industry, not only in our local area, but throughout the country and the world. To address this need, the college has founded the International Coloring of Plastics Institute, a new phase in this unique program's history. The goal for the Institute is to become the world's number one source for education and information about the coloring of plastics. The first project for the Institute is to convert Terra Community College's nationally renowned Coloring of Plastics Program from a strictly on campus program to include distance and hybrid courses. The first of these courses are now in place. There are currently three courses offered that are entirely internet based, so that students can take them on their computer anywhere in the world. Terra Community College is a small, community college located in rural Fremont, Ohio. Fremont is located on the Ohio turnpike between Toledo and Cleveland near Cedar Point.
