As we begin the year 2000, it's no secret that technology is growing tremendously, and lanfills are no exception. Although keeping up with the latest instrumentation typically can become quite expensive, that isn't necessarily the case with some of hte new technologies available for the landfill industry. Spending just a few extra dollars in some cases or buying less expensive, but more technical components in others, may provide you long term paybacks. It can also increase flexibility for modifying landfill systems to meet various parameters that cange immensely over the lifetime of a landfill. This paper will discuss a few of the new technologies for landfill applications, and how end users can take advantage of these new products.
