A method for integrated concurrency control and recovery,napplicable to heterogeneous multidatabase systems, is proposed. Thenresponsibility for two-phase local commitment and recovery of thenprepared state at participants is taken over by an entity called 2PCnAgent. The main importance of the method is in preserving globalnserializability in the presence of a certain class ofnparticipant-related failures. The related recovery methods, including annovel failure-time optimistic concurrency control method, are presented
