摘要

Internal steam reforming of methane in a SOFC stack may lead to a very inhomogeneous temperature distribution, which reduces the power density and may result in mechanical failure due to thermally induced stresses. From a mathematical model of the heat, mass and charge transfer processes in the stack the importance of the kinetics of the steam reforming process, the thermal boundary conditions, and the gas inlet temperatures for the stack performance is analyzed.
