Lanthanum Chromite material is usually used as an interconnector material in SOFC. It has high electrical conductivity and high stability in oxidative and reductive atmosphere at high temperature. But this material shows some expansion in reductive atmosphere (1, 2). By this reason, if lanthanum chromite is used as an interconnector for planar SOFC, it may bend itself at operating condition.rnWe tried to solve this expansion problem by using some dopants into lanthanum chromite. We succeeded in reducing expansion in reductive atomosphere from 0.28% to 0.05% by doping of tetravalent Zr ion. We used this material as an interconnector to MOLB type SOFC.
