摘要

Wind generation is becoming a promising energy source as an alternative to fossil fuel. However, current wind turbine systems are not always competitive on a commercial basis. In order to make wind generation feasible as a source of low-cost electricity, it is necessary to introduce new concepts in wind turbine development and design. As a new type of wind turbine, one of the authors designed a cable(Wire rope)-suspended towerless device that takes into account the geographical features of Japan. In this paper, power output is investigated by using a micro wind turbine suspended from a 170-m-long wire cable on Ohshima Island.
