This study aims to develop climatic responsive cultural rooted design guidelines to be used ty architects and planners in the UAE with focus on building form and space parameters. It investigates the critical balance between form and space used as the main approach to mitigate the effect of the harsh climate and provides the functional requirements of culture such as space activity, privacy, and view. The research utilizes visual survey on a city level using the city maps and photographic imaging of various city districts to define the soical features that has the most effective impact on urbanization. It also carries out climatic analysis of selected urban prototypes that are common in the region. AThe paper concludes by providing a method that presents the study's outcomes in formats effective for application in design.
