Changes of geotechnical properties in a dredged, reclaimed soil are studied for four years intermittentrnreclamation using field investigation data of Newport and Woong-dong in Busan, Korea. The resultsrnof investigation are analyzed to understand the soil condition and properties in and under the embankment.rnEngineering characteristics of the dredged and reclaimed soil as well as the original field soft soil arernstudied through boring investigation and in-situ field test. From the results of boring operation, it was foundrnthat the amount of compulsory replacement of the in-situ weak soil was showed larger than that predicted inrnthe design stage, although non-replaced area was still existed at the central part of the embankment. PBD installation,rnwhich can improve the weak clay layer not replaced by the compulsory replacement work under thernembankment, was necessary. The measured settlement, and pore water pressure were increased during thernstaged loading. Groundwater levels measured in banking area of the site were remained unchanged during thernmeasuring period until August 2010.
