In this test the geogrid was pushed back and forth at three stages of pullout test: before peak, atrnpeak and at residual part to simulate the seismic activities. Different geometry of geogrids exhibits influencernof geogrid’s opening, transverse ribs on pullout resistance. In this research, square and circle geogrids and arnplate are tested. Results revealed that unloading-reloading decreased pullout resistance of geogrid at the peakrnvalues and at the residual parts however it had little impact before the peaks. The soil-geogrid interaction processrnwas analyzed by the Particle Image Velocimetry furthermore spatial discretization scheme in finite elementrnmethod to understand about the dilatancy mechanism and shear strain distribution during unloading-reloadingrnprocesses.
