Centrifuge model tests were conducted to investigate the failure behavior of cohesive soilslopes due to surface loads. The displacement histories of the entire slope were measured by using an imagerecordand displacement measurement system. The detailed deformation process, with final failure of theslope was examined on the basis of the measurement results. A slip surface occurred in the reinforced slope.The analysis of test results showed that the pile interrupted the slip surface; the load pressure was larger whenthe fracture occurred and the position of the fracture was lower if using the pile with larger strength. The slipsurface developed from the upper part to the lower part of the slope and the pile was broken shortly after theslip surface run through the slope.
