Important Aspects of the Production of Polyolefin Masterbatches Using Internal Mixers

Internal mixers as exemplified by the Farrel Banbury Mixer have been used for decades to produce mixtures of polymers and fillers of staggering variety. These mixers are in general use around the world for the production of polyolefin masterbatches of importance to those of us involved in color and appearance. In today's presentation, we would like to discuss some of the more salient aspects of the performance of these mixers in this and similar service as well as to provide contemporary results from studies of the optimized use of these machines in our industry.
