Many molders transferfrom a veocity-controlled fill to a pressure-controlled pack and hold when the part is approximately 95percent full. It is commonly known that changes in injection velocity affect the position of the melt front in the cavity at this transfer point. It is less commonly known that many other sources of process variation can have the same effect.
