We have created a variety of detailed geological models, inrnorder to carry out a sensitivity study in a turbidite oil reservoir.rnThe base case stochastic model was generated using well-logrndata, seismic attribute data and information from outcroprnanalogues. In addition, some small-scale models were createdrnto capture the effects of fine sedimentary structure (mudstonernintra-clasts, and interbedded sandstone and mudstone layers).rnThe main focus of this paper is on the flow simulation,rnupscaling and sensitivity analysis, rather than on therngeological modelling. We carried out a range of sensitivityrnstudies on two-phase flow parameters, gridding effects andrnupscaling. Our results show that the large-scale geologicalrnstructure is potentially dominant. Integration of seismicrninformation and the definition of zone transitions is crucial ifrnan adequate history match is to be obtained. Redistributingrnthe facies by successive realisations also impacted strongly onrnthe productivity. The dominant two-phase flow property wasrnwettability, particularly the shape of the capillary pressurerncurve, which could lead to a large capillary transition zone.rnIn this particular field, the fine-scale structure, as modelled forrntwo genetic units, did not have a large impact on the results,rnbecause these units occurred in isolated regions and werernlargely by-passed. Small scale heterogeneity in the mainrnChannel Sandstone genetic unit did impact on flow, however.
