摘要

This study examined the effect of "cross-pathway" motion on UHMWPE while holding all remaining kinematic variables constant. The results indicate that UHMWPE is susceptible to accelerated damage mechanisms under cross pathway conditions as compared to linear pathway conditions. Future studies should examine the effect of changes in velocity vector magnitude and orientation, and stop/start conditions on the damage rate of UHMWPE.
