We have demonstrated the use of PEG-p(Asp) polymeric micelle based delivery vehicles as a compatible system to entrap ION and the therapeutic agent DOX simultaneously or individually. The iron oxide nanoparticles will serve multiple functions by acting as not only an imaging contrast agent and therapeutic device in itself. Both ION loaded SNAs and CNAs maintained the ability to heat in the presence of an AMF while an increased temperature slightly accelerated the drug release of both the self-assembled and cross-linked micelles.
