摘要

A novel, in situ forming polyurethane foam significantly reduced blood loss and improved survival in a lethal, closed-cavity, Grade V hepato-portal injury model. This material has tremendous potential for the treatment of abdominal hemorrhage on the battlefield. Chronic safety and additional efficacy studies in other models are in process.
