摘要

Wet-drum magnetic separators are usedrnextensively for upgrading iron ore and for magnetiternrecovery in dense-medium circuits. In this study thernperformance of a continuous, laboratory wet-drumrnmagnetic separator was evaluated with and withoutrnthe application of ultrasonic energy when processingrndense medium slurries. Test variables includedrnmagnetic-to-nonmagnetic ratio, solids concentration,rnand nonmagnetic materials. The results indicaternthat under certain conditions, the purity of thernmagnetic material increased after ultrasonicrntreatment.
