DEWATERING, TREATMENT, AND BENEFICIAL REUSE OF WATER FROM THE RESOLUTION COPPER MINE

The MWTS has successfully been operated at designed capacity close to two years, and a total of 4.5 billion liters (1.2 billion gallons) have been treated and delivered to the NMIDD. Additionally, CH2MHNI assisted in the training of Resolution's operations and staff employees during start-up that has allowed for ongoing success in the operation. Resolution and CH2MHNI have recently completed conceptual designs for a series of plant modifications and upgrades that will increase plant capacity approximately 25% while maintaining high quality treated water standards. It is expected that these upgrades will be ready in time to meet the peak NMIDD water usage.
