Development of a 17-inch VGA Inorganic EL Solid State Display

iFire Technology Inc. has demonstrated rapid progress in scaling fundamental research from small 2" substrates to an 8.5-inch QVGA and then 17-inch VGA prototype with 8-bit colour and full-motion video. This paper examines which unique properties of the technology make it easy to scale to larger sizes to achieve the company's goal of developing a large flat panel display television module with the visual performance of a CRT, at a fraction of the cost of existing Flat Panel technologies.
