This paper introduced the instrument and the principle for UV differential optical absorption spectroscopy (DOAS). SO2 is a main environment pollutant gas. The concentration of SO_2 is measured with the DOAS method in the 260-320 nm UV spectral. The charge-coupled device (CCD) is applied to this method. The sensitivity and accuracy of measures and calculation results were influence by CCD parameters. The influences of these factors are discussed in detail. Numerical analysis and test results of the method are presented. The comparison with different techniques shows DOAS is a good online environment monitoring technique.
