摘要

Influence of fuel and oxidant impurities on the alkaline H_2 -O_2 fuel cell (AFC) performance has been studied. It is shown that methane impurity differently behaves at the anode and cathode, and other gaseous impurities (except for inert gases) including CO which poisons acid electrolyte fuel cells, affect AFC performance through reaction with KOH. Replacement of electrolyte for a fresh one restores the FC performance.
