Many strategies for improving both axial and lateral resolutions are based on a priori information about the input signal and lead on a numerical aperture improvement. But all of them are still limited by the wave nature of light. By using fluorescence technique one theoretically can reach unlimited resolution. In this talk we present simulation and experimental results which show the advantage and problems of using the nonlinear fluorescence effect in super resolution systems. The results show that it is almost impossible to get the nonlinear fluorescence effect without getting being limited by the fluorescence quenching, bleaching and saturation phenomena.
