Attempts to Automate Client Security at VirginiaCommonwealth University

To enhance protection against Internet threats, VirginiarnCommonwealth University planned to implement Symantec ClientrnSecurity for all faculty, staff and students. This product integratesrnantivirus, personal firewall and intrusion detection and allowsrncentralized management of policy configurations, deployment andrninstallation settings for multiple antivirus and securityrntechnologies. Presently implementation has been placed on holdrnwhile we attempt to address some implementation problems. Thisrnposter session will exhibit the problems we have encountered inrnour efforts to deploy this product as a managed client.
