Demolishing a 120m Chimney by Directional Blasting Skills in Complex Circumstance

The characters of directional blasting for demolishing the 120m chimney in Heshan Power Plant are that the toppling range is narrow( + 8°), the chimney's inner structure is not symmetrical in the toppling direction, the body's construction quality is relatively poor, and the engineering is difficult with high risk. This paper mainly surveys the design and construction gist of the asymmetrical chimney's demolition blasting, sums up and analyzes the blasting experience.
