Control of Explosives and Rock Blasting in Hong Kong

摘要

The control of explosives for civil use in Hong Kong is mainly exercised through the Dangerous Goods Ordinance, Chapter 295. In the paper, the legislative framework and the current practices in the control of explosive import, manufacture, storage, conveyance and use in rock blasting are described. The protective measures commonly used to prevent flyrock during rock blasting and the control criteria on vibration, air overpressure and noise are discussed.
