Knowledge-base software package for friction stir welding

摘要

An interactive software package, which can be used with standard web browsers, has been developed to provide technological and economic data for potential users of friction stir welding (FSW). The technical part of the programme predicts the likelihood of success to join a specific material combination with a selected joint geometry. It calulates the estimated welding speed and gives recommendations about suitable machines, FSW tool materials, FSW tool designs and suppliers.
