Nowadays, with the trend towardrnelectrical utility deregulation throughout the world,rnthe ability to quickly and easily access and sharerninformation is essential, if the utility is to continuernproviding an efficient and cost-effective service torntheir current and new customersrnThis paper describes how the utilities could userntoday’s existing Web Browser / Server Technologyrnto securely communicate with their SubstationrnAutomation Systems. In addition a summary of thernassociated benefits is given and possible futurernscenarios are considered.
