NEW METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES FOR INTEGRATING SERVICE PROVISION SYSTEMS AND PROCESSING CHAINS

In operational utilization of Earth Observation (EO)rndata the user needs evolution and scientific progressrndriven changes in information service production callsrnfor agility and flexibility in data processing systems.rnDevelopment of scientific utilization methodologyrnmakes it necessary to repeatedly re-process EO datasetsrnwith improved techniques - or to meet new inputrndemands. In addition, as several models and methodsrnare to be combined, there is a need for a commonrnprocessing control system for combining the output ofrnone model/phase to the input of next phase. To meetrnthese requirements, a new processing system conceptrnSaukko is introduced. Saukko is still underrndevelopment, and it will be released as open sourcernsoftware.
