BASe-Kit – A mobile measurement system for building automation

摘要

Based on a flexible, modular development methodology for the hardware and software of wireless sensor nodes and a framework for the development of gateway applications, a mobile measurement system for building automation has been developed. Thanks to its independence on a stationary infrastructure, varying measuring scenarios can be realized swiftly and cost-effectively. Through the use of specific communication structures within the sensor network, even larger buildings can be covered by sensors. This serves to provide a better view of users' behavior and the technical building infrastructure, which can in turn be utilized for optimizations aiming to increase, e.g., comfort, security, energy-efficiency, and sustainability.
