The hexagonal Ni_2In (B8_2) type Mn_7Sn_4 has a collinear ferrimagnetic structure. The intermetallic compound (Mn_(1-x)Fe_x)_(65)Sn_(35) systems crystallize in the Ni_2In type in the range of 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.4. The present paper describes the results of investigations of the crystal and magnetic properties of the Ni_2In type (Mn_(1-x) Fe_x)_(65)Sn_(35) compounds with X-ray and neutron diffraction, as well as magneto metric methods. The neutron diffraction study at room temperature for some samples revealed that the Fe atoms occupy only 2(d) site for x = 0.1 and 2(a), 2(d) site for x > 0.1. The neutron diffraction study at T = 10 K for x - 0.25 revealed the ferromagnetic structure. The inverse susceptibility χ~(-1) -T curve shows a bend in the lower x suggesting the ferrimagnetic nature but nearly linear in the higher x suggesting the ferromagnetic nature.
