We present a generalization and an extension of the block decision feedback equalizer described by Reinhardt in [1]. SThe original equalizer was derived for a class of transmission which is described by an orthogonal spreading over a group of non-interfering fading channels. We generalize this concept for block trans-missions with arbitrary interference; the generalized description also includes reception with multiple antennas suint diversity combining and equalization. In extension, we introduce osoft feedback for all individual symbols, in contrast to the single soft value used in [1], offering an improved performance. We describe the proposed equalization method, provide examples for application, and illustrate the performance by simulation results.
